Iskra Velitchkova is a Bulgarian generative artist, born in 1988, who writes code exploring the relationship between humans and machines and translates its output into plotter drawings, paintings and clay. Before turning to art, she worked in data visualization at a bank in Spain and on a restaurant-recommendation project that had her riding through Madrid with a GoPro camera mounted on her motorbike. She began minting generative work on Tezos in 2021, starting with the series Generative nature, and her pieces rose to the top of the sales rankings on hic et nunc. Later projects include Lines and Bones: Study of Distance in 2022 and INK, released with Art Blocks in 2024. A bird motif recurs throughout her practice, first arriving by accident when she tried to break code meant to represent a tree. In 2026 she introduced I See Generative, a long-term framework treating distance as a condition of contemporary perception.
