AliaK

AliaK, also known as Kath O'Donnell, is an Australian artist working in both physical and digital media. She studied science, electrical engineering and IT, worked in technical roles at television and streaming companies, and moved from Brisbane to Sydney. She returned to university in 2013, starting with a textiles course, and studied Fine Art and Visual Culture from 2015. Her final-year project, specture, took as its subject endangered and extinct species from her home state. In 2019 she queried the API of a Yahoo Groups email list to generate drawings, and she has drawn on Donna Haraway's writing in work on String Figures. She calls her process "driftings in drawings", after the Situationist International idea of the dérive. She mints work on Tezos, Hic et Nunc and fxhash.
