Anna Lucia

Anna Lucia is a Dutch artist and engineer who writes code to generate geometric abstractions, drawing on the structures of weaving and embroidery. She studied at Delft University of Technology and worked as a water treatment engineer, and spent a year at art school studying fashion design. After taking part in the Genuary challenge in 2021, she began minting NFTs on Foundation that August, and by October art-making had become her main activity. Her first long-form generative project, Loom, was released on Art Blocks in 2021 and takes the mechanics of a four-shaft hand weaving loom as its subject. In 2023 she began Generations, made with the ARSNL platform and the quilters of Gee's Bend, Alabama. Oefenstof followed in 2024, and was shown alongside the companion work Thread at Galerie Met in Berlin in April 2025.
