Dave Bachinsky

Dave Bachinsky is a professional skateboarder, woodworker, and visual artist based in Carlsbad, California. He grew up in Lowell, Massachusetts, where his uncles cut down a Santa Cruz board with a jigsaw in 1992, and turned pro for City Skateboards at twenty. He competed in the Dew Tour, Street League Skateboarding, and World Cup Skateboarding, and gained international recognition in 2006 for landing a kickflip down the El Toro 20 stairs. In 2014 he founded Shapethree, handcrafting sculptures and furniture from broken skateboards, with a share of proceeds funding new obstacles at the skatepark in Lowell. After losing his woodworking shop during the Covid-19 pandemic, he began flying a drone over a local skatepark, filming skaters' lines from directly overhead. That work became Roll Forever, launched in 2020, and Skylines, begun in 2022. In 2023 he served on the Selection Committee for the USA Olympic skateboarding team.
