eboy

eBoy is a pixel art collective founded in Los Angeles and Berlin in 1997 by Kai Vermehr, Steffen Sauerteig and Svend Smital. The group is known for isometric cityscapes and portraits assembled from a modular system of digital pixel objects, and is sometimes called "The Godfathers of Pixel". Alongside gallery exhibitions, eBoy has taken on commercial commissions for clients including Adidas, Google and The New York Times, and has appeared at design festivals such as OFFF. The collective's work extends to NFT series, among them Pixorama, released through Foundation, and Blockbob Rorschach on Art Blocks. In 2023 eBoy showed TiliX at "The Pixel Generation" at Unit London, along with the isometric work Whit3-Blackh0l3-Bi0psy.
