Fernando Jerez is a Spanish generative artist and a computer science teacher who fills his spare time with creative tech projects. He draws with code, and also works with electronics and 3D printing, making code-based collections about humans' evolving relationship with machines and technology. Stations, a procedurally generated collection of science fiction structures, launched on Art Blocks in February 2022. UMK, a long-form collection released on Art Blocks Presents in 2023, drew on the illustrators Jean Giraud (Moebius), Katsuhiro Otomo and H.R. Giger. He later extended it with UBK: Ultrabionika, his first project using AI imagery, and wrote an essay, 'Matching Gen Art X A.I.', on combining generative coding with AI. Roots, an edition of 256 pieces, was released on Art Blocks Studio in September 2024.
