lilcode

lil code is the shared name of two artists, Sebi and Coni, who are from Chile and are based in Valdivia, where they met after growing up in different cities. They come from academic backgrounds in architecture, video game design and sound engineering, and are self-taught in creative code and machine learning. They learned the basics of computer art and live coding from Christian Oyarzun and Alejandro Albornoz, with whom they founded the ToplapValdivia node. They have made generative art since 2018, beginning with hydra-synth, a browser-based video synthesizer for live visuals, and their code-based work is mostly in motion, mixing organic and glitch aesthetics. Since 2020 they have also worked with AI and machine-learning image synthesis, released under the name Hypereikon. They entered the NFT space on fxhash in March 2021.
