Paul Reid is a Scottish figurative painter, born in 1975 in Scone, Perth, who lives and works in Edinburgh. He graduated with first-class honours in drawing and painting from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee in 1998, and studied further in Madrid on a Carnegie Trust scholarship and in Florence on a scholarship from the John Kinross bequest. Reid paints scenes from Greek mythology and legend in oil on canvas, shown in exhibitions including "Mythologies" and "Gods, Heroes and Beasts" at the Scottish Gallery in Edinburgh. He accompanied the Prince of Wales on trips to Italy, Turkey and Jordan in 2004 and to Canada in 2009, producing paintings and drawings from the first of these journeys. He has worked in digital painting since 2019, and in 2025 was featured in the "Immortal Exhibition" at BitBasel in Miami. His work is held by the Royal Scottish Academy and the Fleming Collection.
