Sean Higgins earned an MFA from the University of Pennsylvania and completed his undergraduate studies at Moravian College. After living in Los Angeles for many years, he can now be found exploring the rocks, mountains, and plains of Northern Colorado. Higgins creates fictional worlds in which time and space are ambiguous. Landscape, geology, outer space, technology, dreams, and memories converge to form new environments that could exist equally in the future or the past. His solo exhibitions include shows at L.A. Louver in Venice, sixspace in Los Angeles, Ambach and Rice in Seattle, and Collette Blanchard in New York. Selected group exhibitions include Hydroponic Forms at Falko Alexander in Cologne; the traveling exhibition Alptraum!; The Digital Eye: Photographic Art in the Electronic Age at the Henry Art Gallery in Seattle; Empty Distances at Mark Moore in Los Angeles; and Rogue Wave ’05 at L.A. Louver in Venice, California. He also co-curated Transporter, a group exhibition at Kopeikin Gallery in Los Angeles.
