sgt_slaughtermelon is a digital artist working in psychedelic and abstract imagery that blends glitch aesthetics with generative and pop-influenced techniques. As a child he drew comic characters from memory and hoped to become a cartoonist. In high school a neighbor passed on a collection of art books that introduced him to a wider range of art history, and his father, who bought him Photoshop Elements, encouraged him toward computer graphics rather than fine art. In mid-2019 he built Lazlo Lissitsky, a generative program named for László Moholy-Nagy and El Lissitzky, which produces Suprematist and Swiss Modern-style compositions. In August 2021 he released autoRAD on Art Blocks with Tartaria Archivist, drawing on the Memphis and Neo-Memphis design movements. He has also released For The Culture, a series of MacPaint-style portraits. In 2024 he wrote an essay on the fragmented state of the blockchain art market.
