Snowfro

Snowfro is the alias of Erick Calderon, an artist and founder born in Mexico City in 1981. He lives and works in Houston, Texas, where he ran the ceramic tile business La Nova Tile after earlier experiments with 3D-printed sculpture, programmable LED bracelets and projection mapping at live concerts. The name comes from a snow cone stand he ran as a student at the University of Texas. An early collector of CryptoPunks, he moderated the project's Discord from 2017 to 2020 and sold five of his Zombie Punks to help fund Art Blocks, the generative art platform he founded in November 2020. He launched it with Chromie Squiggle, which became the platform's logo. In 2025 he released LIFT, a self-portrait, and the Toledo Museum of Art included his work in the survey "Infinite Images: The Art of Algorithms".
