Steve Pikelny

Steve Pikelny, born in 1989, is an American artist and engineer based in Brooklyn. Much of his work takes the form of functioning websites and blockchain contracts that imitate the internet's money-making machinery, among them FakeBullshit.news, a fake fake news site, FastCashMoneyPlus.biz, and Friendworld.social, a fictional community of targeted individuals and pyramid scheme victims. He acts as CEO, CTO, COO and CFO of the companies he has founded. His projects include Fake Internet Money, Money Making Opportunity, a 28-year participatory piece based on the Pirate Game, and Dopamine Machines, released on Art Blocks in 2023. His work was included in the 2025 group exhibition Groundwork at Heft gallery, and in 2026 he was commissioned to take over the Museum of the Moving Image's website for its Site Interruption series with the Tezos Foundation.
